Soooooooo, it’s Hellidays and it’s attitude time. With 19 months between them, the attitudes change regularly so it seems we are on a Merry-go-round and it aint fun! Round and round it goes – attitude, good times, attitude, good times but something that remains fairly constant lately is the blame game – what’s the go there?
Here’s a fairly typical conversation:
‘Mum, where are my shoes, hat, shorts, iPod, bag, shirt, socks……….?’
‘Dunno mate, where did you leave them?’
‘Well I don’t know that’s why I’m asking, YOU MUST HAVE PUT THEM SOMEWHERE MUM’ (see dem angry words!)
Blood boiling, face reddening, control self, losing battle…….
‘Mate, I didn’t have them’
‘BUT YOU ALWAYS MOVE THINGS’
‘WELL IF YOU PUT THEM AWAY LIKE YOU SHOULD YOU WOULD KNOW WHERE THEY ARE’
The heart tells me I should wrap it up here. The head is about to explode so it goes a bit awry here – a fair bit awry – alright, shit hits the fan. All the sense in the world tells me to stop, pick your battles, all of that but bloody hell, 2 kids blaming you for losing their shit does your head in after a while! Just saying!
It’s relentless ya know. They blame you for everything – lost their hat, your fault, late for school cause they lost their hat, your fault. R e l e n t l e s s …. I tell ya!
So the days are filled with a fair bit of yelling, blaming, screaming, blaming, laughing, still blaming, farting, blaming, giggles and what truly gets you through, is knowing that the same thing is happening in homes right across the world.
